“I’ve known I wanted to be a dentist for as long as I can remember. And believe it or not, I grew up on a street called Colgate—talk about a sign, right?! Growing up, I was definitely a “people person,” thrived in the sciences (especially human sciences), and loved creating art. It didn’t take long for me to realize that dentistry would be the perfect fit—a career that combines all of my passions and brings me so much joy.
I was raised in Lancaster, Texas, as the only child of a hardworking machinist father, who served as an Army MP at just 17. My dad met my mom while stationed in Korea, and their love story could easily make a great book!
After graduating as the top female student from Lancaster High School, I headed to East Texas State University to begin my journey toward dental school. I graduated from the prestigious Baylor College of Dentistry in 1997 and opened my private practice in Highland Village in 2001. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to have many incredible opportunities—from lecturing about cutting-edge dental technologies to speaking at local schools about the importance of oral health.
On a more personal note, I’m blessed with two amazing daughters who are the light of my life. Lisa is a studio art major at UNT and works part-time at my practice, while Kate, a senior at FMHS, has been starring in musicals since she was 10 years old. She’s now dreaming big about a Broadway career and will soon be pursuing a BFA in musical theatre. Our family‘s youngest is our lovable 6 year-old miniature schnauzer, Kirby, who insists on FaceTiming my dad every evening—he’s truly his granddog in every way! We still live in our first home in Flower Mound, and when I’m not working, I love playing board games, Apple games, and video games (I’m a big fan of Fortnite and Halo 5), traveling, and movies.
In 2021, I faced a life-altering challenge when I survived acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) caused by COVID pneumonia. I was placed on the life-saving ECMO procedure and flown to Texoma Medical Center in Denison. My family and I are forever grateful to the healthcare team who cared for me, to my phenomenal staff, and the selfless group of fellow mom dentists in DFW who helped keep my practice running. Last, but certainly not least, I’m deeply thankful for my cherished patients who prayed for my recovery, sent well-wishes, and stood by me until I made a remarkable recovery by 2024.
And to top it all off, I’ve been with my high school sweetheart since 11th grade, and we’ve been happily married for 28 years! Having come face-to-face with how fragile life really is, we continue to cherish every moment of our journey together.”
Scott graduated from East Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in radio/television and a minor in advertising/marketing. His professional journey also includes studies in computer networking, and he holds a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification. After years in the corporate world, Scott made the shift to becoming the business manager at our practice where he continually strives to offer exceptional, personalized service to our patients and referring practices. He fully embraces our philosophy of providing the same level of care to our patients that we would want for ourselves or our own families.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, going to the movies and musicals. He’s also a fan of video games and has loved serving as the president of the FMHS Theatre Booster Club for the past two years. Lisa has been a part of Chenault Cosmetic Dentistry almost from the very beginning! As Dr. Chenault’s oldest child, she’s had the unique opportunity to grow up alongside the practice—modeling in advertising when she was a toddler, helping with the office move to our new location, and training as a sterilization technician and hygiene assistant. Today, Lisa serves as our dental assistant while also attending UNT as a studio art major.
Lisa is an active leader in UNT’s Baptist Student Ministry, where she plays a key role in helping students feel welcomed and supported and conducts small group discussions. She’s also a member of Southmont Baptist Church. In her limited spare time, Lisa enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, going on mission trips, attending music concerts, hiking, and spreading kindness to everyone she meets.

Kirby joined out practice on December 24th, 2018. Kirby helps Scott greet our patients from time-to-time and loves to be paid with ear scratches and hugs with our patients.
